PORTLAND CEMENT

Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general use around the world, used as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and most non-specialty grout.

It is a fine powder produced by heating materials in a kiln to form what is called clinker, grinding the clinker, and adding small amounts of other materials.

Several types of Portland cement are available with the most common being called ordinary Portland cement (OPC) which is grey in color, but a white Portland cement is also available.

Q:where do you buy dental cement?
This Site Might Help You. RE: where do you buy dental cement?
Q:I know it's mostly different names for the same thing, but there must be some differences. It might have something to do with adding sand and/or rocks to make a mixture, but I'm not sure.
1 part cement + 3 parts sand = mortar. Add 3 parts grave and you have concrete. Depending on the type of construction you are doing.

Q:I hope you can help me with my question regarding the Cement-lined pipe. The contractor in a water treatment plant changed the specified Stanless steel pipe to Cement-lined DI pipe. This will be used in air application from blower, air will have a velocity of 23m/s.Is this an ideal application for Cement-Lined Ductile Iron Pipe??
No. The concrete is rough and will disrupt air flow. Those pipes are for wells.
Q:How much would it cost to fill a circle, with a diameter of 20 feet, with Cement if the depth into the ground was a foot?
How about we call it 12 yards and our price here is 100 a yard plus tax.... so all you need now is someone to pour and finish it:) Have fun, 12 is deep, so watch the little kids.......they just love to skate thru.
Q:what is the differance between concrete & cement ?
concrete tastes like peppermint and cement tastes like rhubarb
Q:Part of my cement retaining wall has small cracks and I think after I patch into them I can paint with thinned out cement to blend it in. Would this work?
Yeah that's a nice way to patch the cracks and it will work definitely.
Q:Im trying to remove my Backsplash! Old Tiles gone! Whats the best way to remove Cement Board without damaging my Drywall? I made a hole but need the best way to prevent more!
depending on how old the house is, the sheetrock could be different - past 5-6 years they have built better sheetrock (older sheetrock is more likely to crumble no matter what you do). First you have to see if it is glued, nailed or screwed on. If it is glued, you are better off replacing your sheetrock so you have a better substrate for your new backsplash. If nailed, it should come off easy, and if screwed, you can see the screws in order to back them out. Good luck - hope it works out.
