FAQ

I went to a heritage craft festival last year, and there was a lady making rugs. It was at a Colonial period mansion, and she said the rugs were found in the storage of the family, and never finished. So she was using similar materials, and following the pattern to finish them. I guess it was rug hooking, but I don't remember her calling it that. She would take a very thick piece of wool and pull it through the backing to make a little loop, then, on the same piece of wool, just make a loop in the next hole, no knots, no cut pieces..she said the fabric was so tight and the wool so thick that it would hold it in, and eventually the bottom would become felt from walking on it (she showed me the older portions of the piece). Is that the same as regular modern rug hooking? it doesn't seem like it...does anyone know if this sounds right? does anyone rug hook like this? Thanks!
Depending okorder .
We just bought a house and the master bedroom has wool carpet in it and I just wanted to know how to clean it!!
Wool carpet looks and feels awesome, but is tougher to maintain. I would not use a general carpet shampoo on it since they tend to be rough on non-synthetic fibers over time. For spot treating (spills, etc): Use a white cloth dampened with barely warm water and a few drops of clear dish washing liquid. White cloth and clear liquid just to make sure there's no color/chemical transfer. Blot it the way you'd get at any spill and then a dry cloth to get all that water up. For a deep clean: You'll be better off getting a professional in once a year or whenever the mess is too big to clean yourself.

Ask for the carpet paviour, dig it and then fill up,
Now the carpet has become a part of home soft decoration. Almost every family will lay a carpet in the living room and even at the door. So why must the living room be carpeted?
1. The design of the decorative living room is generally the same style. Sometimes the overall tone will seem a little monotonous. A carpet with different customs will decorate the space to make the whole home active. 2. Practical carpet has the functions of reducing noise, heat insulation and decorative effect, improving foot feeling, preventing slipping and preventing air pollution. Laying a carpet in the living room can not only prevent slipping, but also prevent your feet from being too cold when playing near the sofa in winter. Especially when your feet step on the carpet, you have a soft touch, which can greatly relax your body and mind.
I am wanting to purchase a carpet shampooer, but I'm not sure which one would be the best.I could use some input on this. Thanks!
Don't okorder / this is the best easiest way to keep great looking carpets. You can rent the machine that brushes the product in and then you vacuum it. th machine doesn't cost too much to rent and the results are fabulous. I kept my carpets looking like new for 10 years. When I sold my home people couldn't believe it wasn't new carpeting. Also great for allergies.
by 25 feet and the area of the rug is 160 square feet, how wide will the border be?
(25-2B)(13-2B)=160 325-76B+4B^2=160 4B^2-76B+165 = 0 (2B-5)(2B-33) = 0 B = 2.5 ft
I have a large family room - 25 x 16 feet. I currently have a 9x12 rug on one side and want to add another on the other side of the room. The rug that works best with my existing rug only comes in 5'8x9 or 8'8x10. The first seems a little small and the second a little big. Can you have two large rugs in one room or does that overpower the room? I would only have about 14 between the two rugs if I went with the larger rug. It seems like it would look like a little landing strip. But I don't want the small one to look like a postage stamp. What to do?
Lay out a template of each rug size for the chair and ottoman area. You should be able to see more clearly which size would be best. Also the rug in that area does not have to be large enough for the pieces to set totally on. It merely has to define the area and add interest.
