FAQ

THERE IS A MOUSE UNDER THE RUG?
I doubt very much that there is a mouse under your rug. However, if there is, just lift the corner of the rug and it will run out and probably out of the premises if you have the door open. It is probably more afraid of you than you are of it. Mice are timid creatures and won't hurt you. I live on a farm in a farmhouse and have experienced many mice and grow fonder of them everyday....although I don't want to share tenancy with them.
I am about to get a foal and a light horses. Which blankets/rugs do each of them need and why?
Depends if your horse is going to live out all year, or in on a night, whether it's clipped etc etc. As you are getting a foal, don't buy anything too expensive as it's going to grow out of it pretty quickly. You'll need a waterproof rug for outside and a stable rug for inside. It also depends where you live, what sort of weather you tend to get, if there is good shelter in the field. You can get different weights for rugs, a bit like tog rating on a duvet. Don't get one to warm as it can make a horse soft, the main thing is to prevent the worst of the weather getting onto your horse.

Put it outside the door and use as the foot pad
I have a candle that dripped wax on a carpet so what is the easiest way to remove it from my carpet?
scrape with a putty knife. get 95% of it off. then boiling water and a rag.
I have two toddlers, and needless to say my carpets get a little dirty very easily. Can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaning machine that actually gets the job done. I had one about 2 years ago ( can't remember the brand ), and it sucked. It didn't work, and it left my carpets soaking wet. Anyways, I will probably use it every 2 weeks or so, and if I am going to spend money on something I want it to be worth it ya know. Thanks n advance 4 the help!
to locate a pro near you. Pro's use citric acid in the rinse water to aid in soap removal, and to lower the PH of the carpet to a neutral position, similar to new. If the carpet is Nylon, it can also be Scotch Guard protected by this same pro.
how do you make a rug?
Depends on what kind of rug you want. You can go to a carpet store to buy a remnant, then purchase an easy finishing edge cording so it doesn't get ratty edges. Or you can do some quilting and attach it to a straw or rubber type mat. Try googling DIY Rugs and look at all the different types you can make and what the materials would cost. There are so many choices!
himy apartment already has carpet, but it looks kinda ratty, so i bought an area rug.....it keeps bunching up in the same spot though.....is there any adhesive i could buy that works on carpet?
There is several types and sizes of matts that you put under area rugs. These will help stop the rugs from scooching. But you must get the type for rugs over carpets. So know your rug size and get one that will fit. You can trim to size with scissors. You don t want an adhesive, it will ruin any carpet. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
okay, so i moved to college and back home my parents smoke and the 6'x10' rug i took to school smells of cigarettes. How can i get rig of that smell, any suggestions or advice. thanks.
If it is still hot in your area , take it outside and wash with a mild soap. The driveway with the lawn hose is the easiest.Find two lawn chairs and place the rug on these chairs, or crates, anything to help the water drain from it after washing. When most of the water is drained, throw it over the fence or line to complete drying. Use some degreaser on the rug while you are washing it. The smoke may have some oils in it . You can also rinse with some fabric softener, just mix in bucket first and pour over rug. Only soapy water will get things really clean, those carpet cleaners just cover smells and don't really get anything clean. I only recommed mild soap because I don't know what your rug is made of, if it is synthytic just use laundry detergent. I wash 20 area carpets every spring out of my home, some or wool, cotton, and mixed , even one silk, I don't have a problem, just make sure it is completely dry before bring it back in. If you can't do these things, go to the grocery and buy fabric spray for oders, they work pretty fair.
